When your loved one is struggling, it can be overwhelming, and so Shannon wants each family that she works with to feel that someone is looking out for what is best for them. Over the last decade, she has helped families feel educated and empowered as they make therapeutic placement and academic decisions for their loved one. Shannon's career in mental health started at a residential treatment center that specialized in working with females that struggled with co-occurring disorders. Her role was to help identify potential fit, provide updates and communication to families and referring professionals, and support transition. She also founded and was President of the DFW iaedp Foundation Chapter, which helped provide a collaborative network and continuing education for clinicians working with eating disorders. For the last 7 years, Shannon has worked with more than 200 families as their therapeutic and educational consultant.
Born and raised in Plano, Texas, she spent her academic years in public school, and then graduated from Texas Tech University. She has been married for almost 20 years, and grounded herself in the Dallas area to raise her kids and be near family. Being a mother of two, Shannon has experienced how differently her children learn, and used her professional experience to research and find schools that fit their individualized needs. As a family they enjoy spending time camping and being outdoors. Shannon also enjoys traveling, playing tennis, spending time with friends, reading, volunteering, and staying organized.

Kelly is our "jack of all trades" within the practice. Originally from Chicago, her husband and son have made Dallas their home on two occasions, most recently since 2017. Kelly began her career at CNN, specifically Larry King Live and went on to work at CBS and PBS. Life pivoted her toward a career in crisis management and after the birth of her son, she transitioned again to pursue her Master's degree in Child and Family Psychology. Thinking she wanted to be a therapist, she figured out she was WAY better suited to consult.
In addition to being a consultant within our practice, Kelly is our Autism Spectrum Disorder and learning disabilities sage. She also specializes in "typical" boarding schools and post-secondary placements for students wanting or needing a different path.
Kelly has been married to her high school sweetheart for close to 25 years and has a 17 year old son. When not working, she enjoys travel, eating, and making the world a funnier place.
